While many of our patients visit Balmain Dentist to improve their oral health or tackle a problem tooth, we also see a number of patients who want to improve the appearance of their smile.

At Balmain Dentist, we use various forms of cosmetic dentistry to alter a patient’s teeth, gums or bite, with the overall aim to give each patient some newfound confidence in their smile.

In particular, we have three cosmetic dentistry procedures that are most popular among our patients.

1. Teeth Whitening

Now, more than ever, we’re bombarded with images of celebrities who have smiles so white that we need to wear sunglasses. So of course, we are all lead to believe that our smiles need to be just as flawless and pearly white.

As such, teeth whitening is one of the top forms of cosmetic dentistry we perform at Balmain Dentist.

We offer two types of teeth whitening – Phillips Zoom! or Mega White teeth whitening – to help you achieve a bright, white smile in a safe way in just one session.

To whiten your teeth, one of our team will apply a whitening gel as you sit back in the chair. We activate the whitening gel using a UV light or laser, depending on which procedure you opt for, and depending on the desired results, we can repeat the procedure up to three times.

With our teeth whitening treatments, we not only remove persistent stains, but we allow you to choose how white you want your teeth to be. Whether you want a more natural white smile or a blinding white smile, we can help you to achieve your goals.

2. Dental Veneers

Although teeth whitening is a great way to give you a bright, white smile, it doesn’t fix some other issues that may cause you to be self-conscious, such as gappy, chipped or misaligned teeth.

Dental veneers can overhaul the appearance of your teeth, turning a stained, uneven smile into one that you won’t stop showing off by altering the length, size or colour of your teeth.

Different Types of Veneers

There are two types of dental veneers available, known as composite veneers and porcelain veneers.

Composite veneers are made of resin and can be applied in a same-day appointment, whereas porcelain veneers are thin, porcelain shells that require at least two visits to Balmain Dentist.

You can read more about the pros and cons of each type of dental veneer here.

3. Muscle Relaxants + Fillers

Muscle relaxants and fillers are another popular form of cosmetic dentistry at Balmain Dentist, where our very own Dr Flora Galoustian uses Botulinum toxin as a muscle relaxant to treat areas of concern such as high or ‘gummy smiles’, Hyperactive Mentalis (over-active chin) or a lined ‘smokers’ top lip.

Injectable dermal fillers can also be used to help improve the appearance of receding gums, enhance the appearance of the lips or perform a lower jaw & chin augmentation.

The use of muscle relaxants and fillers in this way improves the appearance of the smile and can even help you to look more youthful.
